I was always fascinated by the catch lights produced by fluorescent light tubes, placed close to the subject. This time I decided to try it myself. Of course, a rather slow shutter speed was used to counteract the rapid pulsing of fluorescent lights. I shoot with everything set to manual, yet images varied quite a bit in color and exposure, depending on the pulse cycle of two tubes. I would estimate shot-to-shot exposure variations about ±2/3 of a stop and white balance varied ±800K.
